I have been here several times and most of the experiences have been positive. However, this was the second time where the food was subpar, in the past few months. We were celebrating a friend's birthday and it was somewhat disappointing. I ordered the manicotti, which i have tried before and was good, but it was the only dish that turned out good. My friend ordered a ravioli dish but the ravioli was rubbery and not edible. They did take it back and fixed her another plate. The second plate was better. My other friend ordered chicken Alfredo but she said the meat tasted processed and not fresh. This was her first experience here and she has decided, sadly, it would be her last. We ordered the cannoli which was stale and tasted old. We couldn't even cut it with a knife. We were laughing because how could they serve this with a straight face. This was a disappointing night. Another friend and I had went previously and tried the pizza. The pizza was soggy and undercooked and we had sent it back. The chef was rude about it. That friend refuses to go back too. I will say though, the wait staff is phenomenal. They are always friendly and accommodating. It seems though, the food quality is starting to go down.

We were celebrating a friend’s birthday. I usually love all Italian. I grew up in the Northeast and had more than ten Italian restaurants in our small town, more than anyone else’s town nearby. I am currently on a no grain diet and had to opt for something other than pizza or pasta. I had the salmon over grilled vegetables. It was filling with a house salad. We will definitely be eating there again once I have a more varied diet.

Delicious real Italian Food in our downtown Sherman. Where we need more restaurants that are nice and enjoyable and not another chain. A place to go in and sit down and have a nice meal without driving to McKinney. I took my friend and her mom for her birthday and they loved it. It’s all from scratch. Bread is amazingl. I like the manicotti. My friend had the pizza and her mom had some kind of veil. And she loved it. I think Wednesdays are 1/2 price bottled wine too

Red Snapper special was pretty good. The starter bread could use some kind of change but the overwhelming good service from the staff more than made up for it. Tiramisu was surprisingly light and tasty.

One of our close friends who lives in Sherman Tx recommended La Piazza to us today on our day trip. La Piazza is located in the downtown area off the square. A nice young lady Courtney met us at the door and took us to our seats. She took our drink orders and gave us some recommendations on appetizers and entrees. They all sounded good. While we looked over the menu Courtney brought some freshly made garlic bread. We ordered the Tortellini Alla Panna and Chicken Caesar Salad. Courtney never allowed our glasses to get less than half empty before she was topping them off. The wait for our entrees did not take long at all. Not too rushed and not too long. The decor of the restaurant was nice and the walls were decorated nicely. They also had a nice selection of different varieties of red and white wines. They also had a full bar along the right side of the restaurant. The entrees arrived and the hot items were piping hot and the salad was perfect. The Tortellini and sauce were amazing great flavor and the pasta was just right. The grilled chicken on the salad had a nice char on it and was not overcooked or overpowering. The Caesar dressing was spot on. Courtney kept checking on us and brought more bread when we were on our last roll. We were never rushed and the atmosphere was nice and everyone seemed to be enjoying their food and the conversations they were having. We will definitely be back and would recommend this restaurant to our friends and family.
